Scott Hazelrigg, JD
Scott Hazelrigg is a fifth‑generation Nebraskan whose career has been defined by a lifelong commitment to education, youth development, and community leadership.
As Founder & President of the NorthStar Foundation (2007-2025), Hazelrigg dedicated two decades to expanding opportunity for young men through high‑impact, long‑term educational and enrichment programming, taking the ‘napkin drawing and building a sustainable impact organization over 18 years.
Hazelrigg earned a Juris Doctor from the University of Nebraska College of Law (1995) and a Bachelor of Science in Political Science from Texas Christian University (1991).
His professional path began in youth and community service, including serving in leadership roles; Executive Director of the Strategic Air & Space Museum in Ashland, Nebraska (1999-2007) and previously as Director of Youth at Countryside Community Church, Omaha (1995-1999).
He has led multiple capital campaigns, including the campaigns leading to the creation and subsequent expansion of NorthStar’s 15 -acre campus; spearheading innovative learning, recreation, and leadership efforts that drove programmatic and capital fundraising initiatives.
Hazelrigg served from 1998 to 2016 on the Westside Community Schools Board of Education, first elected at 29 years of age, he was re-elected three times and served multiple terms as Board President.
With a sustained track record of impact, Hazelrigg has been recognized in recent years;
